Burlington Store Coming To East Haven Frontage Road Plaza
Burlington Stores, formerly Burlington Coat Factory, will take over the former Big Lots site at 78 Frontage Road, says East Haven Mayor.

EAST HAVEN, CT — Mayor Joseph A. Carfora announced Tuesday that Burlington Stores, formerly Burlington Coat Factory, is moving into East Haven.
The store will occupy the former Big Lots location in the retail plaza at 78 Frontage Road.
Carfora praised the move.

"Burlington’s decision to open a location here in East Haven is a win for our community. It reflects our ongoing efforts to make our community a location of choice for businesses," he said. "Their presence will expand local retail options and create new jobs.”
Rich Coppola, the town’s head of Economic Development, emphasized Burlington’s positive
impact on the area. “East Haven has been working diligently to create a thriving economic
environment, and Burlington’s arrival is another step towards that initiative.”

The property owner, Michael Schaffer, expressed enthusiasm for the new tenant. “We’re all very
excited that Burlington Stores has made the decision to acquire the lease from Big Lots. The
addition of Burlington will complement the existing tenants and continue to enhance the retail
mix on Frontage Road.”
The site on Frontage Road has been a cornerstone of East Haven’s retail sector for years.
Originally home to Xpect Discounts, it was transformed into a Big Lots in 2017 before
Burlington’s recent acquisition. All parties are working on a timeline for the store’s opening,
residents can look forward to this new addition to the town’s shopping options in the near future.
