East Haven Democrats Choose Mayoral Candidate
Michael Speer earns the Democratic Party's endorsement in his run for town mayor.

Having been the party’s only interested candidate, Michael Speer, 28, received his party’s endorsement to run for East Haven’s highest office, mayor, with no other party members nominated, according to the New Haven Register.
Speer will run against Incumbent Republican Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr., who is currently serving his seventh term in office and hasn’t lost to a Democratic opponent since April Capone won over him back in 2007, the Register reports.
Maturo is running for re-election alongside fellow Republican nominee Salvatore Maltese, who is also seeking the party’s nomination, the Register reports.
