East Haven Dems Pick Candidate to Face Zullo in 99th District
James Albis rersigned the state representative seat to take a state job; now there will be a special election on February 26th.

EAST HAVEN, CT - On Friday evening, Josh Balter was unanimously endorsed by the East Haven Democratic Town Committee to run for State Representative in the special election set for Tuesday, February 26th.
Balter will now face Republican Joe Zullo.
Both are running to replace James Albis who stepped down from the 99th District seat to take a job with Gov. Ned Lamont's administration.

“Receiving the endorsement from our Democratic Town Committee is an incredible honor and I am excited to get out there and talk to the people about what they want me to address in the legislature,” Balter stated.
“James [Albis] has been incredibly supportive and I am grateful to have him backing me to take over the seat he served with such honor for the past 8 years. As a retired Navy Chief and combat vet, I know what it means to dedicate yourself to service and I can guarantee that I will bring that dedication to Hartford on behalf of the people of this incredible community. I will be the employee for the people and not special interests, East Haven First.”

Balter was nominated by Jack Stacey, of East Haven, who stated: “Now we need to find a person to fill the position and be...the hall of famer, and there is one person who I know can do the job and is ready to do it and I’m behind a 100% and that is Josh Balter.”
The nomination was then 2nd by Lou Pacelli, also of East Haven, who stated: “It’s time to put somebody in Hartford who is honest, has integrity, and is going to fight for us and not a few cronies in Town Hall so I 2nd the nomination for Josh Balter.”
