East Haven Man Gets 20 Year Prison Term For Child Sexual Assault

NEW HAVEN, CT — Convicted of sexually assaulting two children under the age of 10 in Branford, East Haven, and Ledyard between 2015 and 2019, Christian Lorig, 36, of East Haven, was sentenced to 20 years in prison, New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. announced.
The 36-year-old will see that sentence suspended after 10 years served, and 10 years of sexual offender probation, Doyle said. The victims and their families were present and spoke at the sentencing hearing in New Haven Superior Court last week.
On April 3, 2024, Lorig pleaded guilty to two counts of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree and two counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor.

The cases were prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Alexander C. Beck and Assistant State’s Attorney Melissa R. Holmes, with assistance from Inspector Sean Faughnan.
Doyle expressed his gratitude to the East Haven, Branford, and Mashantucket police departments for their investigative efforts and to the state Department of Children and Families and the Yale-New Haven Hospital Child Abuse Clinic for their assistance in this case.
