East Haven Man Killed After Crash Involving Fire Dep't Vehicle: Police
The identity of the person killed in the crash has been released by authorities.

NEW HAVEN, CT — The person killed in a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a fire department vehicle on Saturday night in New Haven has been identified as Robert Cordova, 49, of East Haven, police said.
At 8:34 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Hemingway and Russell streets, police said.
Police said a New Haven Fire Department SUV has collided head-on with a Honda Accord. Fire personnel rendered aid to the driver of the Accord, including providing Narcan, police said.

"New Haven fire personnel operating the SUV reported to be driving westbound on Hemingway Street," police said. "At the same time, the operator of the Honda Accord was traveling eastbound on Hemingway Street. It was reported that the operator of the Honda Accord swerved over the doubled line into the lane occupied by the SUV, causing the head on collision."
The driver of the Accord, Cordova, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
