Water By Town Beach Searched, Nobody Found: East Haven Officials
At 6:58 p.m. the East Haven fire department received a report that someone on the Town Beach had seen a hand emerge from the water.
EAST HAVEN, CT - East Haven officials search waters near the Town Beach on Monday night after hearing reports of people seeing someone in the water but the search didn’t produce anyone.
On social media, East Haven officials said:
“At 6:58 p.m. the East Haven Fire Department received a report that someone on the Town Beach had seen a hand emerge from the water.

“There were two reports similar to this and one report stating that it was a fish jumping.
“Out of an abundance of caution fire department marine units were dispatched to search the area however at this time no one has come forward to state there is someone missing within their party and there are no unattended items left on the beach.

“Fire department units assisted by East Haven Police, the U.S. Coast Guard and the New Haven Fire Department Marine division will continue to do a search until we feel searches are adequate to discontinue or we receive more credible information.”
