East Haven Pauses for the Pledge
The Town of East Haven celebrated Flag Day with a ceremony on the Town green.
EAST HAVEN, CT - Mayor Joseph Maturo, Jr. gave the following proclamation at a Flag Day ceremony held on the Town green June 14:
Be it hereby known to all:
The Office of the Mayor and the citizens of the Town of East Haven recognize this day, June 14, 2016 as “Flag Day,” here and throughout our great nation. We celebrate this symbol of unity, democracy, and the country’s devotion to freedom and equal rights for all citizens.

By an Act of Congress, dated June 20, 1985, Public Law 99-54 was passed and signed by President Ronald Reagan, to have the
"Pause for the Pledge of Allegiance" as part of the celebration of National Flag Day.

Now, therefore, I, Joseph Maturo, Jr., Mayor of the Town of East Haven urge all citizens to pause at 7:00 p.m. for National Flag Day’s Pause for the Pledge of Allegiance and join all Americans in honoring our Flag and those who fight for our freedom.
