Juvenile Charged In Car Theft, Drug Possession: East Haven Police
A search of a stolen vehicle at Kentucky Fried Chicken found suspected heroin and pot, police say.

EAST HAVEN, CT - A juvenile was arrested after being in possession of a stolen vehicle and narcotics, police said Sunday.
On Jan. 19, while on patrol, Officer Donato Palma was driving through the Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot, 650 Main Street, and as he passed an occupied Nissan Altima, COLLECT/NCIC results revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of East Haven on November 20, 2018, police said. As Palma approached the vehicle, the driver attempted to put the vehicle in reverse but was quickly prevented from doing so, police said.
The juvenile was detained without incident, police said. A search of the stolen vehicle led to the discovery of a large vacuum sealed bag containing approximately a quarter pound of marijuana, four bags of suspected Heroin, (11) 2mg. Alprazolam tablets, and other paraphernalia including a scale with residue on it, police said in a news release.

A large sum of money divided and wrapped was also located and seized, police said. A small amount of counterfeit money was also seized from the vehicle, police said.
The juvenile was placed under arrest and was transported to the East Haven Police Department for processing. He was charged with:

· Larceny in the Third Degree
· Possession of Narcotics/Controlled Substance (3 counts)
· Possession of Narcotics/Controlled Substance w/ Intent to Sell (3 counts)
· Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
· Forgery in the First Degree
The juvenile is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 29 at Juvenile Court.
