East Haven Police Learn a Few Tricks at White House Forum
Police Chief says the department is a model for others across the country, but improvements can still be made.

Police Chief Brent Larrabee told the New Haven Register after participating in the Community Policing Forum at the White House that the East Haven Police Department is certainly ahead of others with regards to community policing efforts.
But improvements can be made, even though Larrabee told the Register that his department has become a model for other police departments around the nation, gaining positive reviews after implementing policies mandated by a Department of Justice consent agreement.
Thursday’s White House forum, held by the Department of Justice’s Office of Community ORiented Policing Services, was organized after the release of the president’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing report, and included breakout sessions for discussion regarding implementing recommendations made in the report, according to the Register.
