East Haven Resident Gets "Role Model of Year Award" for ALS Work

Brian Savo, who has ALS, received Role Model of the Year Award for his work as an advocate and ambassador for patients with ALS.

EAST HAVEN, CT — CT Chapter board member and East Haven resident Brian Savo Tuesday received the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce’s 'Role Model of the Year Award' for his work as an advocate and ambassador for patients with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

The award was presented at the Annual Travelers Championship Breakfast which also featured guest speaker Pádraig Harrington of the European and PGA Tour.

Brian has served on the board of directors of the ALS Association’s CT Chapter since 2012.

Savo has been courageously battling ALS for a decade. When diagnosed he was told he might only have a few years to live.

Savo, who is the father of two young children along with his wife Maria, has been beating those odds ever since.
