East Haven Rotary Club Hosts "Shred-It" Day Fundraiser

All proceeds will be used to help fund the club's many community activities.

The East Haven Rotary Club, which is now celebrating its 76th year, will be holding a Shred-It Day Fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Town Hall parking lot, located at 250 Main St.

Attendance cost is $10.00 for each copy paper sized box; members of the Rotary Club will be on hand to assist, according to a press release. All proceeds will be used to help fund the club’s many community activities.

The club, now in its 76th year, was organized on March 3, 1939 and held its first meeting and was admitted to membership in Rotary International on March 13 of the same year.

Since that time the club has remained dedicated and committed to improving the community and citizens of East Haven.

Through its annual scholarship program and Student of the Month, the club recognizes and encourages achievement of high school students. Amber Alert Identification Cards, Clothe the Children, free Thanksgiving dinner and Breakfast with Santa for children are some of its other volunteer activities.
