East Haven’s Top Cop, 5 SWAT Team Members Get Prestigous Honor
East Haven's finest were honored for their heroic actions during a fatal North Haven home blast earlier this year at dinner Wednesday.

EAST HAVEN, CT - East Haven Police Chief Ed Lennon was among those honored at Wednesday night’s Police Commissioners Association of Connecticut (PCAC) 2018 Distinguished Chiefs Awards dinner at the Grassy Hill Country Club in Orange.
The PCAC recognized nine members of the South Central Regional SWAT Team who were injured during a May 2, 2018 incident in North Haven.
Five of those officers were from East Haven.

Chief Lennon was honored, along with Chief Jim Viadero of Newtown and Chief Tim Shaw of Easton.
Chip Rubenstein, 1st Vice President of the PCAC, said "Lennon, Shaw, and Viadero were selected based on recommendations from PCAC members using input from the chiefs’ officers. The chiefs' professional experience, education, and their contributions to the law enforcement community was also factored into the decision. Nominees are also vetted by previous honorees. "

Chief Lennon's award was presented by East Haven Mayor Joe Maturo.
