EAST HAVEN, CT — Two East Haven sisters will each receive $1,000 for college from the Community Health Center after winning the center's annual scholarship contest.
Damara Negron, who attends Gateway Community College, and Danaeis Negron, who will attend the University of Connecticut in the fall, were selected as the winners of this year's contest. Each sister submitted an application and wrote an essay addressing a health care-related issue.
The scholarship, which began in 2019, is available to the children of Community Health Center employees who attend an undergraduate college or university.
