EAST HAVEN, CT — The woman, LGBTQIA+ and Latina-owned new thrift store on Main Street is attracting a lot of attention. As it should. Thrifting is fun, like a scavenger hunt for great deals, saves folks money, it's slow as opposed to fast fashion, environmentally-conscious and sustainable, and is a dopamine rush. What's not to love?

At El Thrift Store at 218 Main St., in East Haven, owner Nadine Mate-Piovanetti, sells secondhand stuff you need from clothing and shoes to household items and one-of-a-kind find knock-knacks, from art pieces to books, and lots more.

It is also a consignment store, and gratefully accepts donations.
