Fireworks & Beach Party Happens This Saturday, June 29

Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Chapter 484 and Mayor Joseph Maturo, Jr. have announced that this year’s 13th Annual Fireworks & Beach Party celebration will now also feature a Neil Diamond tribute band, “Solitary Man,” featuring Chris Denem.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, June 29th.  The festivities will once again include another fun-filled day of food, music and live entertainment, which will begin at 12 noon and continue right up to launch time (approximately 9 pm).
The rain date, which will be fireworks only, will be Monday July 1st.

The entertainment is being presented through the generosity of PMA Companies.   The VVA and the Town will be presenting “Solitary Man” beginning approximately at 7:30pm, leading right up to this year’s Fireworks show. Neil Diamond is the top selling solo singer/songwriter of all time and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  

Although the fireworks are presented in a cooperative effort with the VVA and the Town of East Haven, the majority of funding is obtained from private businesses and some personal donations.  To that end, donations may still be mailed to VVA Fireworks 2013 c/o Mayor’s Office, 250 Main Street, East Haven, CT 06512.
