Good News For Fans of Cheap Gas: New Forbes Station Now Open

Forbes now has three gas stations pumping gas in a few mile area in and around the East Haven/New Haven town lines. Latest one right off 95.

EAST HAVEN, CT - Those looking for the cheapest gas prices around there is some good news for you - an additional Forbes Fuel station is now open in East Haven.

Everybody knows that the cheapest place to buy gas in the area is at the Forbes Fuel station just over the East Haven line, on Forbes Avenue in New Haven. Or, a few miles down the road at another Forbes station next to the T & J supermarket on North High Street in East Haven.

No matter what time of time you go to fill up your car, you can pretty much count on waiting in line as penny-counting fellow drivers are always lined up waiting their turn at both the Forbes' stations.

Last year the East Haven Economic Development Commission approved plans to construct a new Forbes Fuel gas station/convenience store just off Interstate 95 on Frontage Road in East Haven, in the grassy space between Wendy's and the entrance to the Home Depot.

Construction on the project has been underway for the past several weeks - and now it’s open for business.

The state offered the land to the town, and economic development officials worked out the deal with Forbes to open the new gas station.

The location has a 12-pump service station, with a convenience store.

Also at nearby 198 Commerce Street, Forbes will be using 10,000 square feet for car and truck repair work.
