Here’s Why Raffy Was Shouted Out As An East Haven Star Student

EAST HAVEN, CT— Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Kristin, who nominated her daughter, Raffy, a 7th grade student at East Haven Academy.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

My daughter should be recognized for being a part of an organization called the bestrong.global. she is a state representative for Connecticut. She has served 2 terms last year and this year. What this means is that she represents a mission to save and improve the lives of our youth using a peer to peer approach to strengthen mental and emotional resilience and prevent bullying. She goes into Zoom meetings with other representatives worldwide and helps our youth.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

She is honest caring loving, and she is the best friend you definitely wish you had. She’s a great listener.
