If You Wanted To Be A Trolley Driver - Now’s Your Chance

The East Haven Shore Line Trolley Museum Is Offering Its Annual Trolley Operator Training Course in March.

EAST HAVEN, CT - The Shore Line Trolley Museum Is Offering Its Annual Trolley Operator Training Course Beginning Saturdays in March.

The course for becoming qualified as a volunteer trolley operator at the museum will be held on March 2, March 9, March 16, March 23 and March 30, 2019. No previous experience is required.

The course will cover the mechanical aspects of trolley car operation, railway rules and safety, history, and visitor interaction. You must be 18 years old by the conclusion of the course and you must hold a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License (in any U.S. state).

The fee for the class is $70 ($110 for non-members which includes your first year's membership) and covers all training materials such as your rulebook and instructional handouts. Upon successful completion, you will also receive a hat badge engraved with your membership pass number, two shoulder patches, and a uniform name plate. Following the course, you must undergo an apprenticeship period before you are fully qualified to operate "solo."

Class size is limited to provide a quality instructional experience. During the past few years, the class has "sold out" so we encourage you to respond quickly.
