Jury Convicts East Haven Man Of Sexually Assaulting Minors: Prosecutor
Lawrence Maenza, 44, is guilty of 2 counts of 1st-degree sexual assault, children under 10, and risk of injury to a minor: State's Attorney
EAST HAVEN, CT — A jury found a 44-year-old East Haven man guilty of sexually assaulting young children, New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. announced.
Lawrence Maenza was found guilty of two counts of first-degree sexual assault and two counts of risk of injury to a minor, Doyle said.
According to the State’s Attorney, evidence at trial showed Maenza sexually assaulted two children under the age of 10 in locations across New Haven and Hartford counties.

The two cases were joined for a consolidated trial before a jury in New Haven Superior Court. Maenza will be sentenced April 25.
The cases were investigated by the Branford and Wethersfield police departments, Doyle said, adding he is "grateful to the Department of Children and Families and the Center for Children’s Advocacy for their assistance."

The cases were prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Gregory L. Borrelli, with assistance from Inspector Alfonso Vazquez.
