Man Fatally Hit By Shoreline East Train In East Haven ID'd By Amtrak

The 52-year-old man, whose last known address was Milford, was identified by Amtrak officials for Patch Monday.

EAST HAVEN, CT — The man who was fatally struck by a Shoreline East train in East Haven Saturday has been identified as Carlos Brizuela Yera, 52, whose last known address was Milford, Amtrak, and law enforcement confirmed for Patch Monday afternoon.

According to Amtrak Senior Public Relations Manager Jason Abrams, any additional information on the fatal train versus pedestrian collision would be provided by CTRail.

A person was struck and killed by a passing train in East Haven, police said.

At 6:28 p.m. Saturday, Amtrak Police contacted the East Haven Public Safety Dispatch Center to report that a pedestrian had been struck and killed by a passing train in the area of Saltonstall Parkway and Forbes Place, police said. East Haven Police units are currently on scene assisting Amtrak Police.
"Although this incident does not directly impact East Haven roadways, we ask the public to avoid the area due to the high volume of emergency vehicles responding," said Police Capt. Joseph M. Murgo.

In an update Sunday, police said the train involved was Local Train CDOT 3655 owned by Shoreline East.
