Man Stole Carmax Car, Sold It On Social Media: East Haven PD
A suspect stole a car from Carmax and then sold it on social media, police said.
EAST HAVEN, CT — East Haven police are asking for the public's help to identify a suspect who stole a truck from Carmax on Frontage Road after he took it for a test drive.
The suspect used a fake ID to take a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 on a test drive, police said. The suspect then posted the vehicle for sale on social media and sold it for well under book value.
It wasn't until the purchaser tried to register the vehicle that it was discovered to be stolen.
