Obituary: Doris Torre, 80, of East Haven

Doris Torre 80, of East Haven passed away peacefully after a brief illness on May 13, 2024. She was the wife of the late Carmine Torre, and the daughter of the late James and Margaret Masseboeuf. Doris was born November 10, 1943 in Brooklyn NY.

Doris loved to fly and spent her early career working for an air cargo company out of JFK (then known as Idlewild) Airport, enabling her to travel worldwide to many foreign locations fare-free. She was a very loving, caring type of person who was very generous to her friends. She was completely devoted to all animals, especially the many dogs she had. Early in her life, she was a member of the Police Auxiliary in Long Island, NY. In more recent years, she worked for Pratt and Whitney as an administrative assistant, and then as a retail clerk for Old Navy in Hamden.

Doris is survived by her sister Ellen (Robert) Jones and her loving nephew Christopher Jones.
