Obituary: Genevieve “Jean” Torniero Jean, 84, of East Haven

Genevieve “Jean” Torniero, 84, of East Haven CT passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 28, 2024. Jean was born in New Haven on November 12, 1939 to Louis and Rose Esposito.Jean was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.

A smart, gentle, caring person with a happy-go-lucky attitude who will be missed immensely by all.

Jean was a successful realtor at Century 21 who loved helping people that led her to receive a prestigious centurion award that she was so proud of.

Besides her husband Fred of 63 years she leaves her three children Michael Torniero (Victoria), Donna Cotter (Robert), and Denise Torniero (Joe Santomenno) all of North Branford. 5 grandchildren, Bobby Cotter (Emily Altieri), Anthony Sidera (Leah), Andrew Sidera, Stephanie Torniero-Gardner (Nicholas), Caitlin Cotter (John Tyler Castellanete), and a beloved great grand- daughter Mila Genevieve Gardner.

Jean also leaves behind her treasured Yorkie, Rosie.

Jean also leaves behind 2 sisters Carol Cassista (Richard), Marilyn Mascola (George) and 2 brother in laws John Torniero (Roseanne), Anthony Torniero, and a sister in law Rosemary Gurga (Joseph), and many beloved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Albert & Dolores Bozzuto.

Some of her greatest joys in life were spending time with family and trips to Mohegan Sun casino.

Arrangements: Calling hours will be held Saturday, February 3, 8:30 am - 10:30 am at Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road North Branford. A mass will be held 11:00 am at St. Augustine Church, 30 Caputo Road, North Branford. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
