Obituary: Julia C. Melillo, 91, of East Haven

Julia C. Melillo, 91, of East Haven passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023 in her home. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph A. Melillo.

Julia was born October 25, 1932 to the late Alesandro and Raffaela Criscuolo. She was a graduate of East Haven High School and later worked for many years in the Guidance office at East Haven High. Julia liked to crochet and she along with her family was very active in the Connecticut Classics Drum & Bugle Corps in the 1960’s.

Julia is survived by her sons Michael (Janet) and Thomas (Juanita Ayala) Melillo; her daughter Donna (Chris) Hansen; grandchildren Michael, Megan, Matthew, Melissa (Andrew), Stephanie & Daniel; step-grandchildren Ashley, John & Chelsea. Julia is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Joseph, she was also predeceased by her brother Andrew Criscuolo.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Julia’s family on MONDAY December 18 from 10:30-11:30 AM at East Haven Memorial Funeral Home, 425 Main Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Julia at 12:00 PM at St. Vincent de Paul Church (St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish) 80 Taylor Ave. East Haven. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
