Obituary: Kenneth Stanley Mead, Jr., 48, formerly of East Haven

EAST HAVEN, CT - (From Washington Memorial Funeral Home) Kenneth Stanley Mead, Jr., 48, of Cheshire, formerly of Hamden and East Haven died suddenly at his home on Monday, January 31, 2022.

Kenny was born in New Haven on July 31, 1973, a son of the late Kenneth Stanley and Robin Miller Mead, Sr. He grew up in Hamden and attended Hamden High School where he excelled in baseball and football. He graduated from East Haven High School in 1991 and was a selected to the Connecticut All-State football team that year.

For the past five years, Kenny was a roofing supervisor for Above the Rest Roofing of Plainville. Kenny is survived by two daughters, Madison Raffone of New Haven and Kaylee Mead of Bethany, one son, Dillon Christopher Raffone of New Haven, a sister, Jessica Lynn Mead of Hamden, a brother, Zachary Mead of East Haven, his mother who raised him Cindy Mead of East Haven, a nephew, Brian Lindsay of Hamden, his stepdaughter Danielle Raffone of Branford, his lifelong friend, Stacy Eastman of Cheshire, and many loving cousins and friends.

Kenny's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, February 9th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.

A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 8:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
