Obituary: Rachel Vitelli, 96, formerly of East Haven

Rachel Vitelli, 96, of New Haven, formerly of East Haven, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the wife of the late John Vitelli.
Rachel was born to the late Gennaro and Antionetta Quartiano Zito in New Haven on October 29, 1927. Rachel loved life and loved to dance, dance dance! She also loved to sing, play bingo and her word-games.

Rachel is survived by her sons Charles (Leslie) & Raymond Vitelli, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband John, she was predeceased by her son John (Laura) and her granddaughter Tara.

Rachel’s family would like to thank the many angels at Mary Wade, her home of over 14 years, with special thanks to Maria, Joy, Dawn, Glinda & Linda.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Rachel on THURSDAY December 21st, 2023 at 10:00 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Church (St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish) 80 Taylor Ave East Haven. There are no calling hours, and burial will be private. East Haven Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
