Obituary: Richard Magliola, 72, of East Haven
Retired from the USPS after 40 years, he was a NY Giants and Yankees fan, old car enthusiast and enjoyed swimming and gardening.
Richard Magliola 72 of East Haven passed away on December 26, 2023 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born December 24, 1951 in New Haven to the late Richard N. and Stephanie (Siekerski) Magliola. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Barbara (Zullo) Magliola and their two children; Andrew Magliola (Alyssa) of Madison and Melissa Wheeler (Brian) of North Branford. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, who he adored, Ryan Magliola, Logan Magliola, Collins Magliola and Bennett Wheeler.
He was a retired employee of the US Postal Service with over 40 years of service, retiring in 2018 from the Wallingford office. He was an avid NY Giants and Yankee fan, who enjoyed swimming at the YMCA in Branford. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family and was an old car enthusiast. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all, especially his “weekly coffee friends.”
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, December 29, 2023 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home & Cremation Service (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 30 at 11 AM in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private.
