Obituary: Robert A. “Tippy” Tinari, Sr., 90, of East Haven
Owner of Tinari Electric, he enjoyed hunting, casino trips, and golf, and he was a NY Yankees, NY Giants and UCONN women's basketball fan.
Robert A. “Tippy” Tinari, Sr., 90, of East Haven passed away January 8, 2024 at his home. Husband of the late Phyllis Fusco Tinari. Beloved father of Robert A. (Augusta “Cookie”) Tinari, Jr. and Mark S. Tinari all of East Haven. Loving companion of Jean Cordano of East Haven and his extended family David and Jason Gay. Brother of Shirley Tinari of East Haven, Linda (Danny) Cusack of Clinton and the late Marion Martone. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Tippy was born in New Haven on January 26, 1933, a son of the late Salvatore and Anne Arcucci Tinari.
Prior to his retirement he was the owner of Tinari Electric for many years. Tippy enjoyed going hunting in Maine and loved to golf. He was a member of the Branford Elks and enjoyed going to the casino. Tippy was an avid fan of UCONN Women’s Basketball, the NY Yankees and the NY Giants.

His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven Thursday at 12:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 12:30. Interment will follow in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call THURSDAY MORNING from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
