Oh, Christmas Tree! Twas Lovely While It Lasted, Time To Hit The Curb

Residential Christmas tree removal by the town is underway. Trees must be placed curbside, and just the tree, no plastic bags, please.

For those who prefer to bring their tree to the landfill, note that winter hours are now in effect. The transfer station is open every Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the third Saturday of the month.

EAST HAVEN, CT — Taking down the tree is a lot less fun than putting it up. But the time has come.

Residential Christmas tree removal by the town is underway. Trees must be placed curbside, not in roadways. And just the tree, no plastic bags.

"Our Public Works Department will make its way through town picking up Christmas trees, starting north to south," DPW Superintendent Charlie Coyle said.
