EAST HAVEN, CT — It's described as an "epic showdown on ice."

On Dec. 30, it's the 'Battle of the Havens Charity Hockey Game,' as the New Haven Police Department faces off against the East Haven Police Department.

The puck drops at 5 p.m. at the East Haven Veteran's Memorial Ice Rink, located at 71 Hudson St.

Cheer for your local heroes and support a great cause. All proceeds will go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

East Haven police are asking folks to "pack the rink and make this a night to remember."

Tickets, which may be purchased the day of the event or at the Mayor's Office at Town Hall in advance, are $10 each with kids under 8 free.
