Rotary Club Names Anely Rojas Perez As February Student Of The Month

EAST HAVEN, CT — The East Haven Rotary Club recently honored Anely Rojas Perez as February’s Student of the Month. Rojas Perez earned this recognition through her "remarkable efforts in both academics and extracurricular activities," the Rotary Club noted in a news release.

Rojas Perez has been dedicated to Health and Science Technology studies, participation in Health Occupations Students of America and the Media Club, where she volunteers as a camera operator, an anchor, and the operator of the boom microphone. Rojas Perez aspires to attend film school, hopefully at NYU, pursuing a degree in Film. She has combined her interests in both health and media by creating films based on medical advancements and research. Her desire is to make a significant impact in the film industry, while shedding light on the world of medicine.

A Health & Science Tech student and Media Club member, she hopes to attend NYU film school, create films on medical advancements, research.

Each month, the Rotary recognizes a student from East Haven High School's junior class. The club makes these presentations at Superintendent Erica Forti’s monthly, District Wide Students of the Month Assembly, which takes place the last Friday of the month in the Media Center at the high school.

The East Haven Rotary Club presents each honoree with a certificate, a Rotary commemorative coin and a check for $ 100. Winners then become eligible for the $1000 Jack Leary Memorial Scholarship to be awarded at the end of their senior year.

The Club, now in its 87th year, was organized on March 3, 1939.
