Schools Officer Retires: Loss For Town, But Win For Lifelong Dreams
George Gerosa's positive influence extended far beyond the walls of JMMS, reaching into the hearts of students, staff, and fellow officers.

EAST HAVEN, CT —The clues about where East Haven police officer George Gerosa will land after retiring are in a Facebook post. Turns out land isn't where it's at.
In a deeply felt social media post announcing the retirement of beloved Joseph Melillo Middle School resource officer, police share with the community the impact he's had on countless students, educators, staffers and, his fellow officers.
"George has been more than just an officer; he has been a mentor, a guide, and a friend to everyone he encountered. Much like a steadfast lighthouse guiding ships through stormy seas, George's dedication to our students, his unwavering commitment to safety, and his genuine care for the community have made a huge impact on anyone who was lucky enough to cross paths with him."
