WHY: More than 73 million are at risk for kidney disease and most don’t even know it. In CT alone, over 1900 patients on Medicare were diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease and close to 4000 patients are on dialysis. The Kidney Walk is the nation's largest walk to fight kidney disease. More than 80 cents of every dollar raised directly supports National Kidney Foundation programs and services for kidney patients, their families, and those at risk. The Kick-Off is an event the NKF hosts to inform, educate, and inspire walk participants and people interested in finding out about the Kidney Walk.
