Southern CT Diamond Club Names 2 East Haven Grads To Hall Of Fame
Jim Pascarella, a 1968 grad, played football, basketball, and baseball. Al Carbone starred in basketball, baseball for the Yellow Jackets.

HAMDEN, CT — East Haven High School graduates Jim Pascarella and Al Carbone are set to be honored at the Southern Connecticut Diamond Club's 15th Annual Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony, Oct. 12.
The SCDC, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization whose stated mission is to foster and promote the game of baseball in greater New Haven, will recognize eight individuals in the Class of 2023. SCDC Hall of Fame members are selected by the group's Executive Board.
Pascarella played football, basketball and baseball at EHHS, graduating in 1968. He then attended the University of New Haven on a baseball scholarship. He was named an NAIA All-American as a junior in 1971, and the following season helped lead the Chargers to their first NCAA Tournament appearance. He left UNH as the program’s all-time leader in home runs (14) and runs scored (121).
Pascarella was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 23rd round of the 1972 Major League Baseball June draft, and played three years in the Rangers’ minor league system. He is a member of the EHHS Hall of Fame and the UNH Athletics Hall of Fame.

Carbone, who was appointed the second commissioner of the Southern Connecticut Conference in 2004, starred in basketball and baseball for the Yellow Jackets. He earned all Housatonic League honors in both sports and was a CHSCA All-State selection in baseball following his senior season of 1991. Carbone was a four-year starter at pitcher and first base for Trinity College and was a 1995 All-New England selection. He is a two-time MVP in the West Haven Twilight League.
Carbone is a member of the EHHS Hall of Fame and a WHTL Gold Bat recipient. He possesses a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Trinity (1995) and an MBA in sports management from UNH (2004).
