Special Election Date Set To Fill 99 District Seat In East Haven

A special election between Republican and Democratic candidates needs to held to fill representative James Albis' seat.

EAST HAVEN, CT - The special election to fill the 99th District state representative seat vacated by James Albis will be on Tuesday, Feb. 26th.

Gov. Ned Lamont made that announcement Friday.

Albis resigned the seat to take a state government job.

So far one contender has emerged - Town Attorney Joe Zullo.

Asked by Patch whether he would run for the seat Zullo, a Republican, sounded very much like a candidate.

“I am very seriously considering a run,” Zullo said. No other GOP candidates have yet emerged.

Democratic Chairman Marc Conte said the Democrats will be announcing their candidate(s) shortly.
