State Police K-9 Team Locates Missing East Haven Girl
A young East Haven girl who was reported missing was found, unharmed, by the state K-9 unit. She is back home with her family.

A message from the CT State Police:
Today at 11:30 am, the East Haven Police Department requested assistance from Connecticut State Police with attempting to locate two missing children. It was reported that the brother and sister, ages nine and 10, had wandered into a wooded area near Charnes Drive in East Haven.
A State Police Patrol K9 team from patrol and a State Police bloodhound from the K9 unit were assigned to respond to assist East Haven P.D. The young male child was located, but the female remained unaccounted for. It was reported she was wearing navy blue shirt and light colored shorts.
State Police K9 Search and Rescue K9 teams as well as the State Police Aviation unit (fixed wing) were dispatched to assist in the continued search efforts.
As a result of a collaborative search effort between the East Haven and State Police departments, approximately two and a half hours into the search, a State Police SAR K9 team (TFC Keri Taylor & K9 “SCHUTZ”) located the child who was about one-half mile from her residence.
The child was returned safely to her residence unharmed. Investigation under command of East Haven P.D.
