Arnold, Campanelli, Clavet: Recent Death Notices From Ellington/Somers

ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT — Here are some recent death notices from Ellington and Somers.
Catherine Arnold, 59, of Ellington, was a warm, caring, selfless soul whose passion for life filled the hearts of her family and friends with love. She passed away peacefully next to her husband, Jim, family and many of her close friends and their families on March 4, 2025, after a long and valiant battle with breast cancer. In 1990, she began working with the American Lung Association in finance. She was passionate about its mission and continued to work for many years during her battle with cancer until shortly before her death.
Elizabeth (Carlson) Campanelli, 37, of Somers, died Feb. 24, 2025. Liz was a loving mother who cherished every moment spent with her two sons, Franco and Anthony. She delighted in watching them play sports, taking them fishing, and enjoying sunny days at the beach. For the past 13 years, Liz worked at LEGO, and as the logistics manager for the past five years. A celebration of Liz's life will be held at a later date.

Lillianne (Cyr) Clavet, 89, of Ellington, passed away on March 4, 2025 surrounded by her family. Lillianne was born into a family of 27 children, with 20 living past infancy. Married in 1954 to Gilles Clavet, who predeceased her on Sept. 29, 2024, they proudly celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on July 10, 2024 surrounded by their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an amazing cook and could whip up a meal in no time. She was so proud that her children spoke French.
