Incumbent Republican Kurt Vail turned back the challenge of young Ethan Werstler in the 52nd House District, encompassing Somers, Stafford, Union and Woodstock.

"I want to thank all the people of Somers, Stafford, Union and Woodstock for continuing to put their faith in me," Vail said Tuesday night. "It is very much humbling and appreciated. My opponent, Ethan Werstler, came over earlier to concede the election. Very gentlemanly, very graciously. He ran a very good and clean campaign, he worked his tail off, and I think Ethan has a great future ahead of him."

Jaime Foster, an incumbent Democrat representing District 57, will return to Hartford after topping challenger Jennifer Dzen.
