As Fall Practices Begin, A Look At Somers, Ellington's Team Title Histories, 2025 Schedule
A look at the state title histories for Somers and Ellington high school fall teams, plus schedules for this year's varsity squads.
ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT — Monday marked the first day for official workouts for high school fall sports programs across Connecticut, with the exception of golf which began practices last week (full contact is permitted at football practices beginning this weekend). With the coming of the new season comes the hope for success, with the ultimate goal being winning a state championship.
Ellington High School's 14 fall state titles date back to 1971, while Somers has won nine state crowns since 2004.

At Ellington, Brian Carr replaces Brendan Walsh as head girls soccer coach. All fall head coaches from 2024 remain at Somers.
