ELLINGTON, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Janet Sagendorf, who nominated Sara Jane Reilly of Ellington.

Hero's job: Sara Jane makes quilts for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.

Reason for recognition: Sara Jane is always there to help those in need. The quilts, making food for the shelters, driving neighbors to medical appointments, making masks for all. Sara Jane was there for us when our daughter passed last year. She is there for everyone.

One thing to know: She is amazing.

Thank you for all you do, Sara Jane Reilly.
