Tornado Causes Property Damage In Somers [VIDEO] [UPDATED]
A roof was partially torn off a building and numerous trees were felled as a severe storm cut a swathe through Somers early Sunday evening.

SOMERS, CT — A severe storm, later declared a "weak tornado" by the National Weather Service, ripped through the center of Somers around 6:11 Sunday evening, tearing part of a roof off a combination commercial/residential property adjacent to Webster Bank on Main Street.
A resident of South Road, or Route 83, said the storm "went directly to the side of us … we saw it drop from the clouds and start picking up debris."
A large Colonial building at 635 Main Street, which houses the Bra Ladies Boutique and a pair of apartments, sustained extensive damage to its roof. No injuries were reported.

A town official told Patch a tree fell across Battle Street near the Somers Center Cemetery, and that damage was reported as far east as the Hickory Hill area.
