Army, Noto, Quine, Sullivan: Recent Death Notices From Somers

Condolences are extended to the families and friends of those who have recently died.

SOMERS, CT — Here are some recent death notices from Somers.

Terri (Morgan) Army, 68, beloved wife of 44 years to Walter Army, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 1, 2025. A proud graduate of Somers High School, Class of 1974, Terri's compassionate spirit led her to a career in nursing. She dedicated many years of service as a registered nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester, Mass., where her warmth and care touched countless lives. Terri was a woman of quiet strength and gentle joy. A lifelong animal lover, she had a special fondness for penguins and orange cats. An avid reader, she could often be found with a book in hand.

Josephine (Rinaldi) Noto, 100, wife of the late Joe "Red" Noto, left this world on March 13, 2025. She resided in Enfield for 83 years before moving to Somers, where she spent many happy years enjoying the friendships of empty nesters such as herself. Josephine was a 1942 graduate of Enfield High School and was proud of her achievement, graduating with honors and winning the prize for superiority in stenography. She was a career girl. During World War II, she left her office job at Pratt & Whitney to help the war effort. She then married and worked for Brainard Nursery as the secretary. She later worked for Combustion Engineering, General Electric, Marten Marieta (now Lockheed Martin) working for 36 years at one location. Josephine spent many happy years at Suffield By the River.

Charles Quine, 58, of Enfield, died peacefully on June 3, 2025, surrounded by his family. He attended Somers High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. Chuck enjoyed karate, baseball, and old time TV shows such as Columbo and Sanford & Son. He lived a quiet simple life.

Edward Sullivan, 83, formerly of Somers, passed away after a long illness on June 6, 2025. He graduated from Bristol Central High School class of 1960, and then the University of Connecticut in 1964. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Loring Air Force Base, Aroostook County, Maine. Edward was comptroller of Emhart Corporation in Windsor, and later became treasurer of the town of Somers for 10 years before retiring. Quite the dancer, he started with tap in his childhood and progressed to ballroom later in life.
