Somers Animal Control Caring For Possibly Abandoned Dog

SOMERS, CT — Authorities in Somers are investigating the circumstances surrounding a dog that was found on Mountain View Road in New Year's Day.

The female dog is currently being cared for at Somers Animal Control. She seems to be a terrier mix or similar breed and is estimated to be two-or-three years old. She also may have recently had a litter, authorities said.

"So far, no one has come forward to claim her, and it is suspected that she may have been abandoned," animal control officials said.
