Somers Man Dies In Motor Vehicle Collision With Telephone Pole: State Police

SOMERS, CT — A Somers man was killed early Sunday evening when the vehicle he was driving crashed into a telephone pole on Battle Street, according to state police.

Gregory Issa, 40, was operating a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon "at a high rate of speed" northbound on Battle Street around 7 p.m. The Jeep left the roadway onto the north shoulder and crashed into the pole, according to a state police report.

Issa was ejected from the vehicle and was declared dead at the scene, state police said.
