11-Month-Old Killed In Crash On I-91 In Enfield: State Police
The driver sustained serious injuries in the early Sunday crash, according to state police.

ENFIELD, CT — An 11-month-old child from New Britain was killed in a one-vehicle crash just before 2 a.m. Sunday, state police said. The driver, also a New Britain resident, was seriously injured in the crash.
State police said a woman was driving a 2006 Honda Accord on Interstate 91 southbound, north of exit 45 in the right lane of three.
"For an unknown reason, (the vehicle) veered into the right shoulder and collided with the metal beam guardrail in the right shoulder," state police said, while adding that the vehicle then rolled over and came to a stop in the grassy area to the right of the roadway.

The driver was taken to a hospital suffering from serious injuries. An 11-month-old boy, Isiah Ortiz, suffered life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital, state police said.
