This event is sponsored by the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS), and annually honors two outstanding art and performing music students in the highest-grade level of each elementary school of the State. Students were selected who excel in the areas of visual and/or performing arts and exhibit high levels of citizenship and cooperative skills.
They shared their experience with invited faculty members, administrators, and their parents/guardians and invited relatives. Entertainment at the event was provided by the Flock Theatre from New London, Connecticut where puppetry artists Derron Wood and Victor Chiburis performed, displayed, and educated students about the history and art of puppetry. There was also a special appearance by Kid Governor Elisavet “Ellie” Mendez where she addressed the audience about her platform community issue,” Anxiety and Depression”.
