Party Affiliation: Republican

Occupation: Retired

Family: I am happily married to my college sweetheart of 41 years. We have two adult sons and are blessed with four grandchildren who are the joy of our lives.

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government? A few years ago, my husband served on the Enfield Board of Education. At that time, I believe we were the only married couple in Connecticut where both the husband and wife held elected office concurrently.

Previous public office, appointive or elective: Yes. Enfield Board of Education – four years; currently Enfield Town Council – 10 Years.

Why are you seeking this office?

I am seeking this office as a lifelong resident of Enfield because I am committed to continuing my service to the community.

I will continue to advocate for young families, seniors, and new businesses, ensuring they can grow, thrive, and proudly call Enfield home.

My goal is to leave Enfield a better place than I found it.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it: I believe Enfield needs a reasonable and affordable budget, managed with a common-sense approach to our tax dollars.

We need sound decision-making that best serves our entire community.

Additionally, we must ensure an efficient town government that consistently seeks opportunities to eliminate waste and duplication in our operations.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I believe my extensive experience on both the Board of Education and the Town Council has equipped me with a strong ability to maximize the effectiveness of decision-making processes, ensuring the best outcomes for Enfield.

Furthermore, I genuinely enjoy engaging with people and have developed strong communication skills through these interactions.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

I am committed to advocating for education, public safety, seniors, and local businesses.

My vision for Enfield includes redeveloping the old Enfield Mall into a vibrant, mixed-use property that benefits a diverse range of our residents.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence that you can handle this job?

As the former ranking minority leader on the Enfield Town Council, I gained significant experience in bipartisan collaboration, effectively working across party lines.

My extensive tenure as an elected official has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of Enfield's town government.

This experience offers a responsible perspective on how to best position Enfield for future success.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you? I wanted to share two mottos that I try to live by. The first is to "Love thy neighbor as thyself," and the second is simply, "Be where you say you're going to be and do what you say you're going to do."

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I truly enjoy serving this community and have volunteered most of my life through civic involvement, church activities, teaching, and school programs, to name a few.

I am a firm believer in fiscal responsibility and will continue to work hard to represent the fine citizens of Enfield.
