Snow-Covered Cars Aren’t Festive, Enfield Police Remind Drivers
Police are encouraging motorists to clear all vehicle surfaces, not just windshields, before traveling.
ENFIELD, CT — Enfield police are reminding drivers to fully clear snow and ice from their vehicles before heading out, warning that leftover buildup can create a safety hazard for others on the road.
In a social media post, the Enfield Police Department said “Roberta” — a holiday-themed elf — was out conducting traffic stops and reminding drivers to remove ice and snow from vehicles so they do not pose a threat to people or property while the vehicle is in operation.

Snow or ice left on a vehicle’s roof, hood, or windows can fly off while driving and strike other vehicles, pedestrians, or property.
“Don’t be a South Pole elf,” police wrote. “Clean off your cars so that everyone can drive safely.”
