2Moms Angel Tree Celebrates 13 Years of Bringing Holiday Joy to Enfield Families

ENFIELD, CT - What started as a simple idea to help a few families during the holidays at one Enfield elementary school has grown into a beloved local tradition. Now in its 13th year, the 2Moms Angel Tree continues its mission of bringing smiles and support to Enfield families who need it most during the holiday season.

Since 2012, 2Moms Angel Tree has united the community in the spirit of giving - connecting donors, volunteers, and local businesses to provide gifts, essentials, and a little extra holiday magic to hundreds of children and their families each year.

“Our community has such a big heart,” said Lauren Andrews, co-founder of 2Moms on a Mission. “Every year, we’re amazed by the generosity of people who step up- whether it’s sponsoring a family, donating a toy, or simply helping us spread the word. Watching everyone come together every year is the highlight of my holiday season.”

Over the years, 2Moms Angel Tree has partnered with Enfield schools, businesses, and organizations to expand its reach and impact. Both the Enfield Food Shelf and Lia Cars Group stepped up last year as integral partners, helping fulfill the needs of more than 275 people - the initiatives biggest year yet.

Families in need are nominated confidentially through community organizations, and community members “sponsor” from the virtual tree to fulfill holiday wish lists. Prior to COVID, wish lists were written on numbered paper tags that hung from trees at local events. When the pandemic hit, the organization was forced to get creative. Since then, the initiative has run almost entirely online through a Facebook group, allowing it to reach far more sponsors and help many more families.

This year, the organizers are once again calling on the Enfield community for support- through donations, sponsorships, and participation in holiday fundraising events that make the Angel Tree possible.
