6 New Officers Sworn Into Enfield Police Department
The half-dozen new recruits will begin formal training at the New Britain Police Academy starting Friday.

ENFIELD, CT —The ranks of the Enfield Police Department swelled by a half-dozen Wednesday, as six new officers were sworn in during a ceremony at Town Hall.
All six officers will begin formal training at the New Britain Police Academy starting Friday.
Jack Whitlock (radio call sign 498)

Whitlock grew up in South Windsor, graduating from South Windsor High School in 2022. He attended CT State, Manchester Community College, pursuing an associate's degree in criminal justice. He has plans to finish his degree in the future.
Whitlock has been a member of the Enfield Police Department Auxiliary Program, operating in this capacity until he was appointed to this full-time position. He also spent his summer employed as a security officer at Dunkin' Park in Hartford.

In his off-duty time, Whitlock enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He enjoys playing baseball, golf and working out.

Michael O’Toole (radio call sign 499)
O'Toole grew up in Suffield, graduating from Suffield High School in 2019. He has been a member of the Enfield Police Department Auxiliary Program for three years, serving in this capacity until his recent appointment to this full-time position. He has participated in the Suffield Police Explorers, where he attended a cadet police academy during his time with them.
O’Toole was also selected, at the age of 17, to participate in the Connecticut State Police Youth Week. This is a program where high school students from across Connecticut apply, and are
then selected, to participate in a week-long version of the Connecticut State Police Academy. During this program, O’Toole earned the award for being the cadet with the most motivation, dedication, and leadership.
He joined the Connecticut Army National Guard at the age of 17 in 2018, as a “Corrections and Detention Specialist.” Later, in 2020, he transitioned into service as a Military Police Officer. He served with the 643rd Military Police Company as a sergeant for six years, until this past July when he completed his military obligation. During his tenure, he was awarded several Army Achievement Medals.
In his off-duty time, O’Toole enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, playing sports, and working out.

Enoc Charneco (radio call sign 1001)
Charneco grew up in New Britain and graduated from Newington High School in 2021. Hespent time volunteering in coaching A.A.U. programs for the youth, as he enjoys giving back to the community he grew up in.
He attended a trade school where he went on to work for an aircraft company as a Lab Technician Engineer.
Charneco enjoys playing the piano, involving himself in different team sports, and working out. He also enjoys spending time with my family and most of all, with his 18-month-old son, Noxx.

Anthony Borrelli (radio call sign 1002)
Borrelli grew up in Holbrook, New York, graduating from Sachem East High School in 2017. During his tenure at Sachem East, he was certified in medical assisting where he developed crucial skills pertaining to first aid, patient care, and phlebotomy.
After high school, he attended SUNY Empire where he took courses in emergency management and cyber security, further broadening his knowledge in these important disciplines. He went on to finish his degree at Suffolk County Community College, where he graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts in May 2023.
Borrelli has held various jobs where he gained experience serving the public and learning different trades. Whether it was his time working at Costco, building home foundations, or cutting fallen trees from powerlines, he knows how meaningful and fulfilling serving the public can be.
He makes very good use of his free time by training in the martial art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Wrestling. He has been doing so for over 15 years and learned that being humble and dedicated is just as important as the other skills that it helps to develop, such as problem solving, strategic thinking, and positional awareness. He also enjoys being with his family and making good memories with them.

Jacob Urbanowski (radio call sign 1003)
Urbanowski grew up in Ellington, graduating from Ellington High School in 2017. He has had work experience as a residential home builder in the local area prior to his employment, providing exceptional services to customers and clients.
He is also a member at his local fish and game club, where he volunteers his time at public events such as the Wounded Warriors fundraiser and kids’ derbies within the club, sharing his passion for the outdoors with community youth and many others. When he has time, he also offers his time at motocross tracks, teaching others how to ride and stay safe while sharing the love for the sport.
In his off-duty time, Urbanowski enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, playing sports, working out, and staying active.

Levi Smith (radio call sign 1004)
Smith grew up in Enfield, graduating from Enrico Fermi High School in 2011. While attending Fermi, he was a member of the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) program.
He has spent his time preparing for service in the law enforcement profession by shadowing fellow officers, training in martial arts, and volunteering time supporting small businesses in town with their grand openings. He has also volunteered with the Special Olympics multiple years in a row.
In his free time, Smith enjoys spending time with his family, training Jiu Jitsu with his daughter, and working out.
